The Lions narrowly but deservedly lose their away game at SC 09 Erkelenz. In a relatively balanced match, Erkelenz was the slightly better team with clearer chances. The Lieck boys never found their usual rhythm and, in a rainy game that was briefly interrupted by hail near the end, fell behind in the 19th minute due to a deflected shot. Just before halftime, one of the few highlights from the visitors resulted in a 1-1 equalizer. In the second half, few players managed to replicate their previous strong performances, and the previously unbeaten team from Lieck fell behind again. In the remaining six minutes, the Lions gave it their all. However, even with the famous battering ram approach, they couldn't score again. Soaking wet, they had to accept their first defeat of the season. In the other top match between Beeck and Orsbeck, there was no winner. As a result, Orsbeck is now level on points with Lieck but moves to first place due to a better goal difference, followed by our Lions.
Brush it off and move on, next up after the holidays is Kückhoven.
