the U13 and U15 teams won their County Cup Finals against FC Wegberg-Beeck and Ay-Yildizspor-Hückelhoven, respectively, with a score of 3:1 each.

This year's U13 Cup Final took place between our young Lions and the team from Wegberg-Beeck.

Finally, we met in proper competition after only playing against this team twice in the hall. This is also due to the fact that we were not allowed to play the Bezirksliga qualification last year because of the canceled season.

Our U13 (D-Jugend) was highly motivated from the start and had high hopes against the favorites from Beeck. The offensive playing style of the Beeck team played into our hands that day. After a somewhat nervous opening phase, we could have taken the lead within a few minutes. However, the whistle for a penalty, which everyone expected, did not come as the referee let play continue. Almost immediately after their first real offensive action, Wegberg-Beeck scored (minute 17). But that didn’t faze our Lions. They kept playing through Beeck's last defensive line and created several good chances. Three minutes before the end of the first half, it finally happened. After a cross from the right side, the well-deserved 1:1 was scored. After the break, things moved quickly. Less than two minutes into the second half, the ball found the back of Beeck's net again. A long pass was converted in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The game had been turned around, and we now had everything in our own hands. Beeck brought fresh players off the bench, creating good transition moments, especially in midfield. But the Lieck defense stood rock solid. Two more good counterattacks by our U13 (D-Jugend) went unused until a classic Sunday shot from about 20 meters out found the top right corner to make it 3:1. With that, the match was decided, and we can now proudly call ourselves Kreispokalsieger 2021/2022.
