The away game at JSG Breberen-Gangelt-Hastenrath was moved at short notice to the ash pitch in Lieck due to the field closure. At temperatures just above freezing, both teams struggled to get going. The Lions' visual dominance on the field, starting with five nominal U11 players, did not lead to any goals in the first half. Thus, it was a goalless halftime. Shortly after the restart, our team scored the 1:0. After a long ball, JSG managed to equalize less than 60 seconds later. After some minor adjustments, the floodgates opened, and the league's best offense scored three more goals, resulting in a 4:1 final score against a very tough opponent. Despite having zero points in the special league, they were always dangerous on the counterattack. In a very fair game, our U13 remains at the top of the standings and now faces an absolutely crucial and decisive home game next week against the Beecker boys.
