In the match against 1. FC Wassenberg-Orsbeck, the U13 (D-Jugend) had to face the dominant league leader. The home team had only dropped two points so far and conceded just two goals in five games.

The Lions were not intimidated by this and also wanted to take revenge for the 7:1 cup semifinal defeat.

Highly focused from the first minute, our boys created several chances. In the 23rd minute, they were rewarded and deservedly took the lead after a fantastic one-two. Two minutes later came the supposed 2:0, but unfortunately, it was offside.

In the second half, the significantly larger boys from Orsbeck became stronger, but the goalkeeper kept his goal clean with strong saves until the final whistle.

Big cheers at the end from the spectators from Lieck, the coaching staff, and the players who fought until the very end.

Next Saturday, the rescheduled match will take place in Kückhoven, which is also the last game before the winter break, after which the indoor tournaments will continue.
